About Axians
The best of ICT with a human touch. It is the people who make the difference every day at Axians. Axians is the ICT brand of parent company Vinci Energies with a broad portfolio of ICT services and partnerships with a large number of renowned IT parties. We have an organizational structure consisting of small-scale business units that are close to the customer and where employees make the difference. In collaboration with other business units, we are able to deliver large-scale and complex services to customers.
Job Description
As a Security Operations Engineer at Axians, you step into a world where technology never stands still. Our clients, from hospitals to government institutions and large enterprises, rely on complex, modern, and business-critical networks. You are the one who ensures that these infrastructures remain secure, stable, and future-proof. You don't just monitor: you dive deep into the technology, solve challenging incidents, perform root cause analyses, and participate in new construction projects that you will manage yourself later. This way, you keep learning and have a direct impact on the quality of our services.
You work daily with Fortinet and Cisco environments, clustering, SD-WAN, and security applications such as Secure Access Service Edge and DDI. One day you solve a stubborn BGP issue, the next day you implement a firewall change or guide a migration. You get a lot of autonomy to prepare and execute changes and you work with modern tooling such as FortiManager, Logic Monitoring, Ansible, and Git. Together with a team of experienced engineers, you spar about solutions, improvements, and optimizations; teamwork is very important to us!
Your workweek is varied: a mix of incident resolution, changes, maintenance, project work, and monitoring. No day is the same, but the common thread is clear: you are the technical linchpin that ensures critical networks keep running. At the same time, you get every opportunity to grow. Whether you want to grow towards security, architecture, project engineering, or specialize further in areas like Zero Trust or automation, Axians actively invests in your development with training, certifications, and guidance from senior engineers.
Are you ready to use your expertise in an environment where you truly make a difference? Where you work on challenging networks, together with a close-knit team, and where your ideas and technical insights are taken seriously? Then this is your moment to make an impact.
Benefits
In this role, you get a contract for at least 32 hours per week. Because we trust you to excel as a Security Operations Engineer, we also offer (based on a full-time employment):
- A salary, tailored to your knowledge and experience, between € 4,000 and € 5,000;
- 25 vacation days, with the possibility to accrue more days;

- Lease car or mobility budget / € 0.23 per kilometer travel expenses reimbursement;
- Naturally, you will have a laptop and phone at your disposal.
- Budget for setting up your home workspace (€ 500) and for purchasing IT hardware (€ 350);
- A profit share based on achieved company objectives;
- Hybrid work environment, location-independent work with Capelle aan den IJssel as the base location;
- Good training opportunities at the VINCI Energies Academy and room for personal development. Knowledge is one of the most important subjects within our Business Unit.
- Lease a bike scheme for colleagues with a permanent contract. Starting with a fixed-term contract? Know that you are entitled to this scheme later!
- Opportunity to contribute to Social Return activities, thereby giving back a portion of our profit as a contribution to an inclusive society.
- Unlimited access to OpenUp: a platform for supporting mental health and well-being, with 1:1 coaching, webinars, and self-help modules.
- We offer a work environment where physical and emotional safety are paramount. This is reflected in our high scores in the employee satisfaction survey (MTO) and a strong eNPS – employees feel supported, safe, and free to do their work in a way that suits them.
Requirements

Because we want to and will remain innovative, there is of course also time to attend relevant sessions with various suppliers or to follow training courses. You are recognizable by your involvement and your enthusiasm and knowledge about security. For this position, you are primarily service-oriented and customer-focused. That is all we ask. Although, as a Security Operations Engineer, you naturally know your stuff, including:

- You have demonstrable experience with Fortinet and Cisco;
- You have worked at CCNP level (certification is a plus, not a must);
