Network Security Engineer

Job Overview

Pay Range: $21hr - $26hr

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve customer issues.
• Implement change requests for managed security customers, providing 2nd & 3rd level troubleshooting support.
• Point of technical escalation for Security engineer L1 & L2.
• Effective and prompt communications with clients and internal staff/management.
• Technical mentorship for the security analyst team.
• Generate and maintain operational processes and training documentation.
• Provide input to constantly improve our products and services to add value for our customers and shareholders.
• Handle any additional maintenance and/or service-related activities as they arise.
• Obtain and/or maintain up-to-date certifications for all products supported.
• Analysis, recommendation, and implementation of new technologies.

Experience

• Experience should include security policy development, security education, Network Penetration testing.
• Application vulnerability assessments, risk analysis and compliance testing.
• Knowledge of IT Security technologies, Operating Systems, Database, routing and switching, and endpoint security solutions.
• Knowledge of information security standards (e.g., ISO 17799/27002), rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentially (e.g., FERPA) and desktop, server, Application, database, Network security principals for risk identification and analysis.
• Exposed to best practice design & Implementation methodology.
• Experience with Problem and Change Management processes and applications.
• ASA policy management (making changes to the ACLs, Objects, policies).
• Expertise in Site-to-Site VPN, Remote VPN & Proxies.
• Exposure to Juniper, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto & Cisco products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent experience; preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience with System, Network, or Security Administration, including firewall.
• Minimum of 3+ years hands-on experience including Certification with at least 2 of the following: Check Point, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Fortinet.
• Check Point, Cisco or Fortinet advanced certifications and/or work experience are very beneficial.
• Relevant certifications in System Administration, Networking, and/or Security.
• Ability to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of IP networking, Routing & Switching, System Administration, and Information Security.
• A “make it happen” attitude and approach.
• Must possess a high degree of intelligence, competence, maturity, adaptability, resilience, integrity and initiative.
• Clear, logical and persuasive communication skills with an ability to work closely with executives and employees at all levels.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Genuine passion for Information Security.
