Network & Security Engineer

Network & Security Engineer is expected to design, implement, manage, and secure enterprise network infrastructure. Theideal candidate will possess strong expertise in routing, switching, firewall administration, wireless networking, andstructured LAN environments, along with hands-on experience in security monitoring and compliance standards.

This role requires a proactive professional capable of maintaining high availability, performance, and security across the organisation’s IT infrastructure. Network Infrastructure Management

− Design, configure, and maintain enterprise routing and switching environments using Cisco and Juniper

devices.

− Implement and troubleshoot advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP etc.).

− Manage structured LAN connectivity including cabling standards, patching, and network rack organisation.

− Design and maintain secure and scalable wireless infrastructure.

Firewall & Security Administration

− Configure, manage, and optimise firewalls including Juniper and FortiGate devices.

− Implement and manage VPNs (IPSec, SSL VPN).

− Develop and enforce firewall policies, NAT rules, and security zoning.

− Monitor and respond to network security incidents.

Monitoring & Performance Management

− Deploy and manage network monitoring tools such as Zabbix and SolarWinds.

− Configure alerts, dashboards, and reporting for proactive issue detection.

Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilisation, and device health.

− Conduct root cause analysis for performance degradation and outages.

− Maintain logs and ensure proper integration with SIEM systems.

Security Monitoring & Endpoint Protection

− Manage and monitor SIEM platforms to detect and respond to security events.

− Investigate alerts and coordinate incident response activities.

− Administer endpoint protection and EDR solutions.

− Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.

Compliance & Governance

− Support and maintain compliance with standards including:

o ISO 27001 (Information Security Management)

o ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management)

o ISO 20000 (IT Service Management)

o PCI DSS

− Participate in internal and external audits.

− Maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures.

− Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation controls.

Operational Excellence

− Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery readiness.

− Maintain network diagrams, documentation, and asset inventory.

− Provide Level 2/3 support for network and security incidents

− Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure upgrades and security improvements.

Bsc./HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Relevant certifications such as: CCNP, JNCIP, NSE (Fortinet), ISO 27001 Lead

Implementer / Auditor – Desirable, Security certifications (CISSP, CEH, etc.) -

Desirable

●● Experience in enterprise or multi-site environments.

Experience with cloud networking and security (AWS/Azure) is a plus

Experience● 5+ years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering roles

Pay: ₦400,000.00 - ₦650,000.00 per month
