Our client, a major telecommunications provider operating in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG , is seeking a seasoned Network Security Engineer to bolster its cybersecurity infrastructure. This hybrid role demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience in safeguarding complex network environments within the telecom sector. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security protocols and systems to protect our network against evolving threats. Key duties include conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits; developing and enforcing security policies and procedures; and responding effectively to security incidents. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of network architectures, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and encryption technologies. Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) solutions and network monitoring tools is essential. You will collaborate closely with network operations and IT teams to ensure the integration of security measures across all platforms. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, staying abreast of the latest security threats and technologies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our security posture. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNA Security, or CEH, is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with excellent communication and leadership abilities, are crucial. You will play a vital role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our critical telecommunications infrastructure.
