About the Role
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Campus Healthcare Recruiter for a leading hospital system in Detroit, MI. This role focuses on building strong pipelines of early-career healthcare talent by developing relationships with universities, faculty, and students. The position is primarily remote, but requires travel 3-4 times per month for on-campus events, job fairs, and facility visits. Candidates must have a personal vehicle and be comfortable working in both professional and campus environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage a requisition load of 40-50 positions (campus recruitment volume may vary seasonally).
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with university faculty, student organizations, and career services to identify top healthcare talent.
- Represent the organization at campus events, job fairs, and career days to promote opportunities and employer brand.
- Source candidates through ATS reports, LinkedIn, Indeed, referrals, and networking.
- Maintain and optimize ATS postings to ensure SEO visibility and accurate job details.
- Partner with department managers to understand hiring needs and develop recruitment strategies.
- Conduct intake meetings, candidate screenings, and offer negotiations.
- Track open requisitions, candidate pipelines, and recruitment metrics to ensure timely hires.
- Promote the Employee Referral Program (ERP) and encourage employee engagement in recruiting.
- Serve as a brand ambassador at professional and community recruitment events.
Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of healthcare recruiting experience (hospital or clinical preferred).
- Campus recruitment experience is required (ability to engage with students, faculty, and staff).
- Experience managing 40-50 requisitions in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
- Strong sourcing and networking skills with proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and ATS platforms.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and client management skills.
- Highly professional presence with the ability to represent the organization at events.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must have a personal vehicle and ability to travel locally to campuses and job fairs (requires occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. for event materials).
