Project Manager

About

An NGO in Kimberley, Northern Cape is hiring a Project Manager to coordinate community development projects. You will develop proposals and budgets, mobilise community participation, monitor implementation, manage donor relationships, and prepare reports. Development sector experience and a passion for social impact are ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate project teams to achieve objectives, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules using project management software, identifying critical path activities and tracking progress.
• Manage relationships with project stakeholders including clients, sponsors, team members, and vendors, ensuring clear communication.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and acceptance criteria through quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, maintaining registers and implementing mitigation and contingency plans.
• Facilitate regular project status meetings and prepare progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholder groups.
• Conduct project closure activities including lessons learned sessions, final reporting, and handover of deliverables to operations.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of both waterfall and agile project management methodologies with ability to apply the appropriate approach.
• A recognised project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or CAPM from an accredited certification body.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to make sound judgements under pressure.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills to motivate and direct cross-functional project teams.
• Strong financial acumen including experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for projects.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, or Monday.com for planning and tracking.

Qualifications

Scrum Master or PMI-ACP Certification for Agile Projects
