About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure design and development activities comply with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and MACE requirements, including participation in Management Review Meetings and system audits.
- Review process capability (Cp/Cpk), development trials data and statistical reports to ensure product and process stability before PPAP submission.
- Lead structured root cause analysis for development-related customer complaints using tools such as Pareto, Fishbone, Why-Why and Control Charts.
- Oversee APQP timing plans, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA and PPAP submissions; ensure effective cross-functional execution.
- Review supplier readiness for new development projects and ensure supplier capability aligns with product requirements.
- Ensure complete understanding of product specifications, critical characteristics and risks associated with non-conformance.
- Drive mistake-proofing and continuous improvement initiatives in new product and process development.
- Ensure product safety requirements and regulatory compliance are incorporated during design and development stages.
- Approve engineering changes after evaluating feasibility, risk, customer impact and system updates.
- Ensure implementation of 5S, safe working practices and emergency preparedness in development areas.
- Align development KPIs with company quality objectives and monitor monthly performance with action plans.
- Establish visual dashboards for APQP status, trial results, risk register and project milestone.
- Ensure all customer-specific requirements, statutory norms and contingency plans are integrated into development planning.
- Review and approve risk registers for development projects and ensure mitigation actions are implemented.
- Communicate technical and non-technical development information clearly to customers and internal teams.
