Within our New Product Introduction (NPI) department, we drive the transition of new laser products from development to production through close collaboration between interdisciplinary teams from development and operations.

As an NPI Project Manager (m/f/d), you will take responsibility for technical sub-projects within product development programs and ensure that products are transferred efficiently, with high quality and on schedule into series production.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordinating, and managing technical sub-projects in the NPI environment with responsibility for scope, timelines, costs, and resources
  • Creating and maintaining project plans, as well as systematically tracking work packages and project progress
  • Conducting variance analyses and risk assessments and initiating appropriate corrective actions
  • Designing, evaluating, and implementing manufacturing processes and production equipment in close collaboration with relevant departments
  • Ensuring the transferability of development results into stable and scalable production processes
  • Supporting prototype manufacturing and accompanying pilot and ramp-up phases
  • Coordinating interdisciplinary teams and ensuring consistent alignment between product development, processes, and production equipment
  • Balancing standardization and innovation and contributing to structured documentation and compliance with defined standards

Profile

  • Successfully completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field
  • Several years of experience leading technical projects in an NPI, production, or development environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production equipment, and industrialization
  • Experience managing interdisciplinary teams and complex interfaces
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies as well as PLM and ERP systems
  • Structured, analytical, and solution‑oriented working style with strong execution capability
  • Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and a high sense of responsibility
  • Business‑fluent German and very good English skills
  • Affinity for the use of AI technologies and agile working methods
