About the role
Your role in the team
- You proactively monitor our OCI environment (monitoring, alerting, logging) and ensure availability, performance, and security.
- You handle incidents, service requests, and disruptions in 3rd-level support - structured via Jira and with proper tracking.
- You analyze performance and resource bottlenecks (compute, storage, network) and implement sustainable measures to stabilize them.
- You will handle operational administration such as IAM/User and access management, policies, and compartments.
- You plan and manage deployments and infrastructure changes within the framework of well-structured change management processes.
- You are responsible for patch/update management for OCI components, operating systems, and databases, as well as backup/restore checks including documentation.
- You further develop automations (scripts, CI/CD pipelines) and participate in team meetings/stand-ups.
- You accompany migrations to OCI (from on-premises or other clouds such as AWS/Azure/GCP) and support a smooth transition into operations.
- You plan and execute disaster recovery/business continuity tests, share knowledge within the team, evaluate new best practices — and participate in on-call duties as needed.

Our expectations:
Qualifications
- You possess advanced Linux admin skills and are confident in operations, troubleshooting, and automation.
- You speak fluent German (C1) and good English (at least B2).
- You are familiar with Oracle databases (e.g., Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Service, Base Database Service).
Experience
- You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in operating cloud environments - ideally with OCI.
- You have experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP) and are familiar with their core services.
- You have experience in hybrid and/or multi-cloud scenarios.
Education
- You have a completed degree (e.g., Computer Science / Business Informatics) or a comparable IT qualification (e.g., IT specialist in System Integration).
