Description Of Work
The Operating Systems Software Programmer II serves as a senior-level systems programmer responsible for providing advanced lead technical support in the development, installation, modification, and maintenance of specialized and complex computer systems software, communications software, various layered products, and third-party software. This role focuses on supporting and modernizing complex, large-scale applications spanning SAP Business Objects, Apache Tomcat, and Windows or Unix based platforms. The position operates with a high degree of technical independence and must quickly analyze new and existing systems to implement innovative, efficient, and compliant technical solutions.
Duties include systems development, systems administration, mentoring other developers in industry best practices, agile methodologies, and emerging technologies. This role participates in strategic planning, performance tuning, technical design reviews, system troubleshooting, and support for modernization efforts. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in SAP Business Objects, Apache Tomcat, and Apache httpd administration. In addition, candidates should have strong SQL skills across Oracle and SQL Server; Windows and Unix administrative abilities including Active Directory, firewall port configuration, and ODBC setup; scripting proficiency in PowerShell, VBS, and Unix shells; strong SAP Business Objects metadata knowledge; and demonstrated problem‑resolution skills.

Salary Grade Range: $87,617.00 - $131,426.00 Recruitment Range: $87,617.00 - $111,211.00

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Demonstrated experience administering SAP Business Objects R4.0–R4.3 including 2+ years in a Lead Administrator role
- Proven experience in Universe design, database connections, reporting, and scheduling within SAP Business Objects.
- Experience with Apache Tomcat administration (standalone setup, configuration, and debugging)
- Experience with Apache httpd as Reverse Proxy
- Experience working with SAP MetaData outside of CMC using Java SDK, MetaMiner, SAP Tools , or BOE Admin Tool.

This Role Is Eligible To Be Hybrid And Requires Onsite Reporting Located Within Raleigh, NC

The ITD division comprises four sections: Implementation and Operations, Strategy and Workforce, Enterprise Technology, and Vendor and Finance. ITD offers the following services but not limited to implementations, operations, project/portfolio management, infrastructure, consulting, business division liaison, digital transformation, IT strategy, enterprise technology, IT contract and vendor management, and data office services.

Minimum Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in systems software programming

Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in systems software programming
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience
