Operations Manager, Manufacturing

Our client, a leading entity in the Manufacturing & Production sector, is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Operations Manager to oversee their extensive facility in Lagos, Lagos, NG . This pivotal role demands a strategic leader with a proven ability to optimize production processes, manage a large workforce, and ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of high-quality manufactured goods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in lean manufacturing principles, supply chain management, and operational excellence. You will be instrumental in driving productivity, improving quality standards, and achieving key business objectives.

Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution. Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity. Manage and lead a diverse team of production staff, supervisors, and engineers, fostering a culture of high performance and safety. Ensure adherence to all quality control standards and regulatory compliance requirements. Optimize supply chain and logistics processes to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and delivery of finished goods. Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings. Implement and promote lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Collaborate with other departments, such as R&D, Sales, and Finance, to align operational goals with business objectives. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing), Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in operations management within the manufacturing industry. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale production facilities and complex operations. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies. Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills. Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lagos, Nigeria, and possess strong knowledge of the local manufacturing landscape.
