Our client is a medium‑sized organisation operating within the manufacturing and production sector. Following significant growth through acquisition, they are consolidating systems and processes globally, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, standardisation, and scalable supply chain execution.
Role
In this role as Operations Project Manager WMS a.I. you will:
Responsibilities
- Take end‑to‑end operational ownership of the WMS implementation for the Rotterdam warehouse.
- Lead the transformation of inbound, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory processes from manual to system‑driven execution.
- Act as the primary operational interface between warehouse teams and the wider ERP programme.
- Ensure warehouse processes are practical, efficient, and scalable, minimising unnecessary system customisation.
- Work directly with warehouse operators and supervisors to validate processes and system functionality.
- Review warehouse layout, racking, bin/bay structures, and physical flows to ensure alignment with the WMS.
- Ensure site readiness including scanners, labelling, hardware, and supporting infrastructure.
- Own warehouse cutover activities including stock counts, freeze periods, reconciliations, and backlog management.
- Lead hypercare from the operations side, stabilising the warehouse post go‑live.
- Identify operational risks and issues early and communicate them clearly with pragmatic solutions.
- Represent warehouse operations in regular programme and stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure the delivered solution is suitable as a template for future global rollouts.
Profile
A successful Operations Project Manager WMS a.I. should have:
- A strong background as a Warehouse / Operations / Distribution Manager or similar role.
- Proven hands‑on experience delivering at least one WMS implementation from the warehouse operations perspective.
- Deep understanding of warehouse processes, layout design, inventory management, and operational KPIs.
- Experience transitioning warehouses from manual or semi‑manual processes to automated, system‑led execution.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both warehouse floor teams and senior leadership.
- Experience working within structured transformation or ERP programmes.
- Fluency in English; Dutch is an advantage but not essential.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, MRO, spares, marine, aviation, or energy environments is preferred.
- Exposure to Infor WMS or similar.
