About the opportunity
BA-Tech Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Application / Software Architect on behalf of a federal government client to support the implementation of Warehouse Management within an Oracle IFMMS environment.
The client operates an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) version 12.2.8-based Integrated Financial Materiel Management System (IFMMS) - an enterprise platform managing financials, materiel, contracting, and real estate. The system also supports a federal agency that delivers employment programs aligned with private-sector productivity standards.
This initiative will replace two legacy warehouse systems with an integrated Oracle EBS Warehouse Management solution covering a National Depot and warehouse sites. The successful candidate will serve as the lead technical architect across the full project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and present application architectural strategies, options, and roadmaps for the implementation of Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, and Order Management in Oracle EBS
- Support all phases of the WM, IM, and OM implementation — including migrations, onboarding, and go-live preparation — in alignment with the client's established change management processes
- Provide expert-level technical guidance on WebLogic 12c, OEM Grid Control 13.x, Oracle EBS R12.2, and Oracle 19c database environments
- Perform database performance tuning, sizing, capacity planning, and backup/recovery using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
- Resolve patching issues using Oracle Patch (opatch) and Oracle EBS online patching (adop); evaluate patch impacts on custom objects including interfaces, triggers, and personalizations
- Create and manage Oracle Service Requests; coordinate with external service providers including Oracle, SSC, Oracle Cluster Group, and Transport Canada
- Conduct import/export operations, transportable tablespace management, and assist the technical team with upgrade processes
- Assist in the development of resource plans and skill set requirements for technical work packages
- Establish and support test environments; respond to client queries throughout the testing lifecycle
- Participate in weekly technical and functional team status meetings; provide briefings and progress reports to management
- Create, maintain, and update all relevant technical documentation throughout the project
Mandatory requirements
- Minimum 8 years of cumulative technical experience developing, delivering, and supporting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications as an Application/Software Architect in Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- A two-year or longer program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the work to be performed
Demonstrated experience in the below tasks:
- Develop technical architectures, frameworks, and strategies for enterprise applications or major application areas; expert-level experience with WebLogic, OEM Grid Control, and Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion Cloud
- Ensure integration of all aspects of technology solutions; database performance tuning, sizing, capacity planning, and backup/recovery using RMAN for Oracle EBS R12 or Oracle Fusion Cloud
- Analyze functional requirements and provide detailed guidance on implementing additional Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion Cloud modules (migrations, onboarding, and related tasks)
- Evaluate existing procedures and methods; document database content, structure, application sub-systems, and data dictionaries; assist the technical team with upgrade processes
- Define and document interfaces between manual and automated operations, external systems, and new/existing systems; support implementation and enhancements of modules such as Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, and Order Management in Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion Cloud
- Define input/output sources; prepare detailed technical design phase plans and obtain system proposal approval
- Identify and document system-specific standards for programming, documentation, and testing — including program libraries, data dictionaries, and naming conventions
Technical scope
Provide expertise and assistance for the project implementation of the various Oracle R12.2 Supply Chain Modules. These consist of:
i. Warehouse Management; ii. Supply Chain Management; iii. Bill of Materials; iv. Order Management; v. Inventory, and; vi. Manufacturing.
v) Create and update all necessary technical documents.
About the contract
- Contract Duration: 18 months, with a possible 6-month extension
- Work Arrangement: fully remote
- Security: Reliability clearance required.
