Job Description
We are seeking a Cloud Administrator to support a federal cloud operations environment leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of cloud‑based infrastructure supporting mission systems.
The Cloud Administrator will work closely with systems engineers, network administrators, and cybersecurity teams to maintain and optimize cloud resources while supporting classified environments requiring periodic access to SIPRNet systems at Hanscom AFB.
This role is ideal for a senior cloud administrator with strong experience managing virtual infrastructure, automating operational tasks, and maintaining secure enterprise cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Operations
- Maintain the smooth operation of enterprise cloud‑based systems within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments
- Coordinate closely with network administrators, system engineers, and security teams to ensure reliable cloud operations
- Provision and manage virtual infrastructure resources including virtual machines, storage, and networking components
- Manage administrator and service accounts across cloud tenants and associated infrastructure
- Maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure architecture, tenant inventories, and operational procedures
System Administration and Performance Optimization
- Monitor system health, tune performance, and optimize resource utilization across the cloud environment
- Install and maintain system‑wide software and allocate mass storage resources as required
- Respond to large‑scale events including provisioning or scaling of virtual resources such as VMs and storage services
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical system failures and cloud infrastructure issues
Automation and Operational Improvement
- Propose, design, and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and scalability
- Develop and improve tools, scripts, reports, and monitoring processes to ensure the health and availability of the cloud environment
- Support the implementation of infrastructure improvements and modernization initiatives
System Maintenance and Updates
- Support operating system lifecycle management including releases, patches, updates, and bug fixes
- Provide updates and communication related to system maintenance, platform changes, and operational impacts
- Ensure systems remain compliant with federal security requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems administration, cloud infrastructure operations, or enterprise IT environments
- Experience administering enterprise cloud environments such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure
- DoD 8570 compliant certification at IAT Level II (Security+ CE or equivalent)
- At least one cloud certification (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
- Experience supporting secure federal environments and working with classified networks
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to access SIPRNet systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) administration experience
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or Air Force cloud programs
- Strong scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or similar)
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, and performance management tools
- Understanding of secure cloud architectures and federal compliance frameworks
Work Environment
- Hybrid work environment with a preference for candidates located near Concord, Massachusetts
- Periodic on‑site support required at Hanscom Air Force Base to access SIPRNet systems
- Collaboration with distributed engineering and operations teams supporting mission systems

- While an hourly range is posted for this position, an eventual hourly rate is determined by a comprehensive salary analysis which considers multiple factors including but not limited to: job‑related knowledge, skills and qualifications, education and experience as compared to others in the organization doing substantially similar work, if applicable, and market and business considerations.
