Empiric is hiring a senior Oracle Database Security specialist to join a global bank’s security function in Frankfurt. This role sits at the intersection of security engineering and audit — focused on embedding, scaling, and proving security controls across critical database platforms.

What you’ll be doing

• Implement and onboard security controls across database platforms
• Ensure audit readiness through control evidencing and compliance alignment
• Lead Oracle database security engineering (hardening, encryption, auditing)
• Own end-to-end delivery working with Security, Engineering, and Audit teams

Must Have

Security & Compliance

• Experience in security engineering, architecture, or compliance
• Strong knowledge of frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST)
• Hands-on experience with SOC2, GDPR, audit environments
• Experience implementing security controls (IAM, encryption, SIEM, vulnerability management)

Oracle Database Security

• Strong experience with Oracle Corporation databases
• Deep understanding of TDE, auditing, access controls, hardening
• Experience with patching and upgrades from a security perspective

Delivery & Stakeholders

• Proven ownership of controls end-to-end
• Experience working across Engineering, Security, and Audit teams
• Strong communication — able to bridge technical and non-technical

Nice to Have

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, Oracle Certified Professional (Security), or similar are highly desirable
