About
Our Client, a HVAC and Refrigeration Organization company, is looking for a Oracle Exadata Cloud Engineer for their Remote location.
Responsibilities
- As an Oracle Exadata Cloud Engineer, you will make an impact by leading the migration, optimization, and ongoing support of Oracle databases and Exadata systems in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will be a valued member of the cloud engineering team, collaborating closely with DBAs, cloud architects, and application teams to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of mission critical systems.
- This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer with deep experience in Exadata administration, cloud operations, and SQL performance tuning.
- Lead and support the migration of on premise Oracle databases to Oracle Exadata Cloud Service.
- Administer, configure, and manage Exadata systems deployed on OCI.
- Perform installation, configuration, patching, and lifecycle maintenance of Exadata Cloud Service components.
- Monitor system performance and optimize Exadata storage, compute nodes, and networking resources.
- Implement high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies using OCI tools and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database, infrastructure, and performance issues in Exadata environments.
- Configure and maintain RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and related Oracle technologies.
- Ensure security hardening, access control, and compliance with cloud governance standards.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Analyze workload patterns and recommend improvements for capacity planning and cost optimization.
- Manage patch cycles, quarterly updates, and infrastructure maintenance tasks.
- Document architecture, operational procedures, and cloud best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance performance, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
- Perform SQL query optimization using execution plans, indexing strategies, and SQL profiling.
- Analyze AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports to identify bottlenecks and propose tuning actions.
- Optimize SGA, PGA, buffer cache, and other memory structures for peak database performance.
- Tune Oracle RAC environments to improve load balancing, cluster communication, and system stability.
- Implement proactive performance monitoring and capacity planning to maintain optimal throughput.
Requirements
- Database Administrator (DBA) with Oracle Exadata Cloud experience
- Oracle DBA Experience
- Exadata experience
- Linux hands-on experience
- Proven experience managing Oracle Exadata systems and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in ANSI SQL, including performance tuning, profiling, and optimization.
- Hands on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and related database technologies.
- Experience supporting migrations to Oracle Exadata Cloud Service or OCI.
- Proficiency with scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform) for automation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for database, infrastructure, and performance related issues.
- Experience with performance analysis using AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports.
- Knowledge of high availability, backup, and disaster recovery best practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Experience documenting technical procedures, workflows, and architectures.
- Experience optimizing Oracle RAC environments for high throughput workloads.
- Experience with OCI cloud architecture, governance, and security frameworks.
- Background supporting large scale, mission critical Exadata environments.
- Knowledge of capacity planning, cost optimization, and cloud performance strategies.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
