About TenneT

TenneT is growing to achieve its strategic goals: We are tackling the energy transition. We are making the energy revolution happen! Join us – with a job that truly makes a difference!

TenneT is a leading European grid operator. We are committed to a secure and reliable electricity supply – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are shaping the energy transition – for a sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy future. As the first cross-border transmission system operator, we plan, build, and operate a high and extra-high voltage grid of over 25,000 kilometers in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany, and enable the European energy market with our 17 interconnections to neighboring countries. With a turnover of 9.2 billion euros and total assets of 45 billion euros, we are one of the largest investors in national and international electricity grids, on land and at sea. Every day, our 8,300 employees give their best and, in line with our values of responsibility, courage, and connection, ensure that more than 43 million end consumers can rely on a stable electricity supply.

Lighting the way ahead together

Your Contribution to TenneT

  • You will technically develop OT security measures and design protection mechanisms for communication and station networks.
  • You will translate regulatory and normative requirements (e.g., IT-SiG, NIS2, IEC 62443) into concrete technical specifications and incorporate them into security concepts, architectures, and guidelines.
  • Based on this, you will design and implement AAA mechanisms and develop network segmentation, access control, and hardening concepts for highly available OT infrastructures.
  • You will also assess security requirements in the asset lifecycle of components (e.g., switches, routers, firewalls, RTUs, servers) and participate in new construction, retrofit, and migration projects.
  • Finally, you will support penetration tests, vulnerability analyses, and audits, follow up on measures, and assist in the technical assessment of security incidents in the OT environment.

Your Profile

  • You have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification, and possess several years of experience in the technical implementation of OT security measures or in the operation of industrial networks – ideally in the KRITIS environment.
  • You have sound knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Network segmentation & Industrial Ethernet, AAA architectures & administration concepts, System hardening of OT and communication components, or Firewall and access concepts in highly available environments.
  • You are familiar with relevant standards and norms such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or BSI Grundschutz and can confidently apply them to OT environments.
  • You understand network and system architectures in energy supply companies or are willing to familiarize yourself with these structures.
  • You have very good German and good English language skills, which you can confidently use in technical documentation and discussions.

Our Challenges

The Asset Management & Technology department is responsible for the asset strategy along the lifecycle according to ISO 55000 and makes cross-functional investment decisions. It manages costs, risks, and performance of asset portfolios, develops maintenance strategies, and supports the planning, construction, and operation of the grid. It also defines technical requirements, develops scalable technologies, and long-term grid solutions. The unit drives the digitalization of asset information and is responsible for real estate management, including easements and contracts.
