Spring Loans (Pty) Ltd is looking for a part-time Accountant with a strong IFRS reporting background and a completed ACCA Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) exam.

This role is suitable for a hands-on finance professional who can combine management reporting, local accounting, and HQ reporting requirements in a growing business.

Mandatory requirement

• Completed ACCA Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) exam

Role purpose

To support the company with:

• unit economics analysis
• budgeting and plan vs actual reporting
• IFRS reporting to HQ
• local taxes
• payroll support / payroll control
• local bookkeeping and accounting

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain unit economics calculations by product, customer segment, and portfolio performance
• Prepare budget, forecast, and plan vs actual analysis
• Support preparation of monthly IFRS reporting packs for HQ
• Review and reconcile local accounting records to ensure alignment with HQ IFRS reporting requirements
• Maintain and review the trial balance, reconciliations, journals, and monthly close process
• Support preparation and submission of local tax-related finance information
• Oversee or support payroll accounting and payroll-related controls
• Maintain accurate local bookkeeping and accounting records
• Prepare management reports and financial summaries for internal use
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, and process gaps, and help improve finance controls and reporting discipline

Required experience

• Strong practical experience in:
  • bookkeeping
  • month-end close
  • reconciliations
  • management reporting
  • budgeting / forecasting
  • IFRS-based reporting
  • payroll-related finance processes
  • local tax / statutory finance processes
• Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and organise finance processes in a structured way
• Strong English communication skills

Preferred background

• Experience in lending, financial services, fintech, or a regulated environment
• Comfortable working in a growing business where some processes are still being built or improved

Working arrangement

• Part-time
• Flexible structure, for example 1 days per week or agreed monthly scope
• Cape Town preferred, but flexible for the right candidate

Pay

R15 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
