We operate a 5-location specialty coffee business in San Diego focused on high-quality coffee, food, and customer experience.

The majority of our revenue is generated in-store, not online.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on CRM / retention operator to help increase:

  • customer visit frequency
  • repeat visits
  • total transactions
  • average order value

This role focuses on in-store customer behavior, not traditional eCommerce marketing.

You will work with Square POS data and email/SMS (Klaviyo) to segment customers, build campaigns, and drive real-world behavior.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and manage email & SMS campaigns
  • Segment customers based on behavior (recency, frequency, spend)
  • Differentiate and market to:
    • local regulars
    • out-of-town visitors
    • high-frequency (near-daily) customers
  • Create and execute local promotions to increase visit frequency
  • Build and optimize retention flows (welcome, win-back, frequency-based triggers)
  • Support or improve loyalty programs tied to visit behavior
  • Analyze performance and adjust weekly

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in CRM, retention, or lifecycle marketing
  • Experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or fitness (multi-location preferred)
  • Strong understanding of customer behavior and segmentation
  • Experience working with POS or first-party customer data (Square or similar preferred)
  • Ability to execute hands-on (not just strategy)
  • Ability to think in terms of:
    • visit frequency
    • repeat behavior
    • in-store performance

This role is focused on in-store retention and behavior.

If your experience is primarily:

  • eCommerce (abandoned cart, online conversion)
  • social media content
  • brand marketing

this role is not a fit.

Compensation

  • Part-time (10–20 hours/week)
  • $2,500 – $4,000/month depending on experience
  • Flexible / fractional

Goal of This Role

Use customer data and targeted campaigns to drive more visits, increase frequency, and improve in-store performance.
