Part-Time Technical Content & Marketing Operations Specialist (Deep Tech / Scientific Instruments)

Upwork

flexible Part-time $35 – $70/hr 1mo ago

About the role

Alemnis is a Swiss deep-tech company developing advanced solutions for micro-scale material testing under extreme conditions, including temperature, vacuum, and in-situ environments. Our technologies are used by leading research institutions and industrial players worldwide.

We are looking for a part-time specialist who can take technically sophisticated raw input from our team and turn it into finished, published, and distributed marketing content across our core channels.

This is not a generic marketing role, and it is not only a writing role. We are looking for someone who can understand technically complex products, work with scientists and engineers, create clear and credible B2B content, and bring that content all the way to the website, newsletter, LinkedIn feed, and target audience.

What you will do

You will help us turn expert input from our application scientists, product team, and sales team into professional marketing assets and campaigns.

Your work will include:

  • interviewing internal technical experts and turning raw technical input into clear, credible content
  • writing and editing content for website pages, product pages, newsletters, LinkedIn posts, and campaign materials
  • publishing and updating content on our website or CMS
  • managing and improving our LinkedIn presence, including company-page content and support for selected personal-profile content
  • building and managing Mailchimp campaigns and newsletters
  • repurposing the same core content across multiple channels and formats
  • coordinating content calendars, launches, and communication activities
  • supporting visibility on relevant external platforms, industry media, or technical publication channels where appropriate
  • supporting light prospect research and audience targeting using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Clay, or similar tools where relevant and appropriate
  • working closely with sales, R&D, product, and application scientists to ensure content is technically accurate and commercially useful

Profile we are looking for

We are looking for someone who combines technical content capability with hands-on marketing execution.

You should have:

  • proven experience in B2B marketing in deep tech, engineering, scientific instruments, industrial technology, semiconductors, or similar environments
  • strong English writing and editing skills
  • ability to understand scientific or engineering topics and translate them into strong market-facing communication
  • hands-on experience publishing content to websites or CMS platforms
  • hands-on experience managing LinkedIn content for B2B companies
  • hands-on experience building newsletters and email campaigns in Mailchimp or similar tools
  • a structured, autonomous, execution-oriented working style
  • the ability to take a topic from raw internal input to published external communication with limited supervision

Strong plus

  • background or exposure in materials science, mechanical engineering, physics, scientific instrumentation, or semiconductor-related environments
  • experience marketing complex technical products to researchers, engineers, lab managers, or industrial buyers
  • experience placing or coordinating content with technical media or industry publication platforms
  • familiarity with prospect research and outreach support tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Clay, or similar
  • experience using analytics to improve content performance over time

What we value

  • clarity over buzzwords
  • substance over marketing fluff
  • curiosity for science and technology
  • the ability to turn complexity into insight
  • the discipline to execute, publish, and follow through

Engagement details

  • part-time, approximately 5–15 hours per week to start
  • remote and flexible
  • long-term collaboration preferred
  • start as soon as possible

To apply, please include

  • examples of technical or scientific content you created yourself
  • examples of website, LinkedIn, or newsletter content you published or managed
  • a short note explaining how you take raw expert input and turn it into finished multi-channel content
  • a brief description of the tools you have used for CMS publishing, email campaigns, LinkedIn management, and prospect research
