Part‑Time WordPress Developer + Client Support Specialist (U.S.-Based) – ~20 hours per week
We are looking for a U.S.-based WordPress developer who is comfortable working directly with clients and helping manage support requests. The role blends development work with client communication and product support. Availability is required between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, with flexibility within that window.
Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve WordPress‑related support tickets for our clients
- Perform small development fixes, updates, and troubleshooting within our custom WordPress themes
- Clearly communicate with clients via email and support tickets regarding issues and solutions
- Provide screenshots, screen recordings, or short walkthrough videos when helpful for explaining solutions
- Follow our internal support documentation and processes for handling requests
- Learn our product functionality to guide clients through settings, features, and configurations when needed
- Collaborate with our internal team when a request requires additional development or investigation
- Escalate more complex development tasks appropriately
Qualifications
Required technical skills
- “Classic” WordPress theme development (no page builders)
- JavaScript
- HTML / CSS
- SASS / SCSS
- Flexbox / Grid / modern CSS layout techniques
- Deep understanding of the CSS cascade
- PHP
- Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
Bonus experience
- Object‑Oriented Programming
- PSI Optimization
- NPM
- Vite
Communication Skills
Because this role involves client interaction, strong communication skills are essential. You should be comfortable:
- Writing clear and professional client responses
- Explaining technical concepts in simple language
- Providing visual walkthroughs using screenshots or short videos
- Helping guide clients through product settings or functionality
All client communication is handled through email and our support system.
