Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for digital and real‑time payment solutions, including API‑based and embedded payment capabilities across commercial banking portfolios.
  • Drive the design and delivery of real‑time payment experiences, ensuring alignment with industry standards such as ISO 20022, evolving clearing rails, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead API strategy and lifecycle management, including onboarding models, versioning, developer experience, performance metrics, and partner integrations.

  • Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, and industry analysis across payments modernization, real‑time rails, and API platforms to identify opportunities and gaps.
  • Define and monitor key performance metrics (e.g., payment volumes, API usage, latency, uptime, adoption, revenue growth) and implement action plans to optimize performance.
  • Partner with Technology and Architecture teams to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable payment platforms, aligned with enterprise standards and future‑state architecture.
  • Manage product risk in compliance with legal, regulatory, operational, and technology risk frameworks, including controls related to payments, data, and APIs.
  • Lead vendor and fintech partnerships, ensuring contractual obligations are met and solutions align to product strategy and client needs.
  • Develop business cases and investment proposals for new payment capabilities, enhancements, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Support sales and client teams with digital payment value propositions, deal support, and client‑facing materials.
  • Drive change management, training, and adoption for new digital and real‑time payment capabilities across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Weekend or after‑hours work will be required periodically to support product releases, implementations, or critical initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in payments, digital product management, or financial services platforms, with increasing accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of real‑time payments, payments modernization, and ISO 20022 messaging standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with API‑enabled platforms, embedded finance, or developer‑facing products.
  • Solid understanding of commercial and retail banking products, payment flows, and end‑to‑end processing.
  • Experience building business cases, managing P&L, and driving financial performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable product insights.
  • Experience collaborating with technology, architecture, risk, operations, and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to align senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, and risk considerations related to payments and digital platforms.
