The Opportunity
We are seeking a mid-level, consultative sales professional to drive new business growth across the Canadian market. This role is designed for candidates who already have proven Payroll/HR sales experience and are comfortable managing full discovery conversations, product demonstrations, and early-stage deal execution.
You will engage directly with decision-makers, assess payroll requirements, and position the most appropriate solution—software, fully managed payroll, or a hybrid approach. This is a hands-on role with measurable impact and clear performance expectations.
What You’ll Do
- Generate and develop new business opportunities through outbound prospecting and inbound lead qualification
- Lead discovery discussions with employers to understand payroll complexity, compliance needs, and growth plans
- Conduct solution-oriented product demonstrations tailored to client requirements
- Clearly articulate the value of payroll software versus fully outsourced payroll services
- Prepare proposals, pricing summaries, and follow-up communications
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking in the CRM
- Apply working knowledge of Canadian payroll fundamentals (pay cycles, statutory remittances, compliance obligations)
- Consistently meet or exceed activity, pipeline, and opportunity targets
- Collaborate closely with implementation and operations teams to ensure effective client transitions
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of Payroll/HR sales experience, preferably in solution-based or consultative selling
- Proven ability to manage outbound prospecting and discovery conversations independently
- Strong communication skills with confidence presenting technical or compliance-related concepts
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling financial and confidential information
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience
- Payroll, HR, accounting, SaaS, or financial services experience
- Familiarity with Canadian payroll requirements
- CRM experience (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
