About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage payroll tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions (federal, state, and local)
- Prepare, review, and file payroll tax returns (e.g., Form 940 and related filings)
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll tax payments and reporting
- Support payroll processing within an internal ERP system
- Post payroll journal entries and perform account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close activities related to payroll and taxes
- Research and resolve payroll tax discrepancies or issues
- Partner with internal teams and third-party providers to ensure compliance
- Maintain accurate payroll tax records and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of payroll tax and payroll accounting experience
- Experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance
- Strong understanding of payroll tax filings and regulations
- Proficiency in ERP systems and payroll platforms
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
