About the role
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to build and operate cloud-native platforms and services that support analytics workloads. You will blend software engineering, automation, and operations to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions with a strong focus on CI/CD, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud-native platforms using microservices, containers, and serverless patterns.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, secure deployments.
- Develop and support scalable services, integrations, and automation for analytics use cases.
- Use Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Automate configuration and operational tasks with Ansible.
- Deploy and orchestrate services on Kubernetes; manage packaging and releases with Helm.
- Implement secure configuration and secrets management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platforms for performance, availability, and cost.
- Gather requirements, define specifications, and produce detailed designs, implementation plans, and test plans.
- Perform unit, integration, and regression testing; support deployments across environments.
- Conduct post-implementation validation, root-cause analysis, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with product owners, data engineers, security, cloud operations, and application teams.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen only (no dual citizenship).
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years in DevOps, platform engineering, or software engineering.
- Strong knowledge of AWS (compute, networking, storage, IAM) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
- Configuration management and automation with Ansible.
- Kubernetes packaging and deployment using Helm.
- Security and secrets management practices (e.g., HashiCorp Vault) for cloud-native workloads.
- Experience working in agile environments and on complex systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with analytics/BI platforms: SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) preferred, or Tableau, Power BI, SAP BW/4HANA.
- Exposure to modern data processing technologies (e.g., NoSQL stores, data lakes).
- Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, software design) and production troubleshooting skills.
Contract Details
- Work Mode: 100% Remote (US-based)
- Location: Herndon, VA
- Schedule: 40 hours/week
- Duration: 05/18/2026 – 05/17/2027
- Potential conversion to full-time after ~12 months
Work Environment
- Remote work; collaboration with cross-functional teams; no travel expected.
