About the role

About Antimetal

Antimetal http://antimetal.com is building the future of infrastructure management https://antimetal.com/resources/blog/the-future-of-infrastructure-is-invisible. We're starting by creating a platform that investigates, resolves, and prevents issues—giving engineers their time back to focus on what they do best: building great products.

What You’ll Do

You'll work across a couple tightly coupled areas. We're flexible on entry points and will match scope to strengths.

Platform Acceleration

Maximize the productivity of every engineer at Antimetal. You'll architect and optimize the development infrastructure behind our agent and product work — internal admin tooling (Anvil), CI/CD, deploy pipelines, dev/demo environments, and the Claude-Code-native skills our engineers use every day to ship. Your work has a multiplier effect across the entire engineering org: when the inner loop is faster, every product team ships faster.

Service Infra

Build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers Antimetal's services — service architecture on Kubernetes, deployment pipelines, observability (OTEL, Datadog), shared libraries, secret management, and the platform abstractions that let product teams ship reliable services without thinking about the substrate. You'll set the bar for what "production-ready" means at Antimetal.

Data Infrastructure

Data is the substrate everything else at Antimetal runs on top of — evaluations, intelligence, experimentation, the product experience itself. If the data is wrong, thin, or disorganized, every layer above compounds the failure. You'll own the schema, storage, and access patterns for the systems we depend on most: investigation traces, agent trajectories, the resource graph, customer telemetry, and the typed blobs that capture state we don't yet know how to structure. You'll hold the line that data integrity is non-negotiable, know when to normalize and when to defer structure, and reach for the simplest primitive that will carry us the longest before adding heavier tooling.

Connectivity

Our agents are only as good as the data and tools they can reach. You'll own the MCP gateway that routes every tool call, the OAuth and credential management that keeps customer integrations authenticated, the deployment and lifecycle of self-hosted MCP servers, and the unified integration catalog that powers both first-class integrations and the long tail. Reliability and enterprise trust are the bar: token refresh at scale, health checks that fire before customers notice, isolation that holds when partner servers misbehave.

What You Bring

  • At least 3 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering, preferably at a high-growth or AI-native company.
  • Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architectures, networking, and systems design. You can reason about how data and traffic flow through a distributed system and what breaks first.
  • Proficient in TypeScript, with hands-on experience operating production services on Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to take ambiguous goals from prototype to production, using customer feedback and operational data to drive product and architectural decisions.
  • Strong code and data modeling skills — clean, scalable, and easy for the next person to extend.
  • Take a product-focused approach to platform work. You measure success by whether the engineers you serve actually love and adopt what you built.
  • Use AI aggressively in your personal engineering workflow. We’re all heavy users of Claude Code, and regularly add new AI tooling across our organization.

Bonus

  • Experience with MCP, OAuth, API gateways, or multi-tenant integration platforms.
  • Experience with modern observability (OTEL, distributed tracing) and SRE best practices.
  • Experience building internal admin or developer tooling consumed by both humans and agents.
  • Experience working on agent or LLM systems — context management, tool use, sandboxing.

Who You Are

  • Identify as a builder.
  • Are excited to work in-person from our new and spacious office in New York.
  • Love working in a startup environment (experience in a startup or obsession with going zero-to-one).
  • Enjoy working with people who are ambitious, caring, and think in systems.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced iterative environment where experimentation is essential.

What We Bring

  • Pay & ownership — Competitive salary with generous equity grants.
  • Full coverage + retirement — Fully covered health, dental, and vision, plus retirement benefits.
  • Unlimited PTO — Take the time you need to recharge.
  • Dinner on late nights — Working late? Dinner is on us.
  • Fitness stipend — Monthly support for your health and wellness.
  • Tools of the trade — Any equipment you need to do your best work.
  • Commute perks — Citi Bike + train benefits.

Interview Process

  1. Application Review – Send us your stuff, and a quick note on why you're excited.
  2. Intro Chat: Share what you're looking for next and learn more about what we're building.
  3. Founder Interview: Talk with one of our founders in more detail about the role
  4. Technical Interview: We’ll have you complete a short exercise specific to the role.
  5. Onsite: Come onsite and meet the team through a series of 1:1 interviews.
  6. Decision – We’ll move fast.
