Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer

For an established Swiss technology company in the Health IT environment, we are looking for a dedicated individual as a Platform Engineer who not only operates modern platforms but actively develops them further. In this role, you will shape a highly available, secure private cloud platform on which central services for thousands of actors in the Swiss healthcare system run. You will work at the interface between DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Security – with real impact and high social relevance.

Responsibilities

• Development, automation, and operation of a modern private cloud platform (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitOps)
• Setup and further development of CI/CD and deployment processes (e.g., ArgoCD)
• Provisioning of self-service platforms for product and development teams
• Support for teams on security, compliance, and monitoring topics
• Participation in meeting regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001)
• Operation and integration of central platform services such as: Messaging (e.g., ActiveMQ), Databases (OracleDB, PostgreSQL), Storage solutions (S3)
• Close collaboration with product teams and architecture committees
• Evaluation of new technologies and continuous optimization of the platform with a focus on stability, automation, and security

Requirements

• Higher education in Computer Science (University of Applied Sciences, ETH, University) or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in the cloud, DevOps, or platform engineering environment
• Very good knowledge of: OpenShift / Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD)
• Experience with: GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible)
• Secrets Management
• Monitoring Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
• High sense of responsibility and security awareness
• Team-oriented, structured, and independent way of working
• Very good German and technical English skills
