Your Role
As a Platform Engineer with a focus on Cloud Networking, you’ll be responsible for the backbone that keeps our gaming platforms fast, secure, and always online. You will operate, and optimize low-latency, high-availability AWS network architectures that serve millions of players and real-time transactional systems.
You will help ensure that our platforms scale instantly, withstand traffic spikes, meet strict regulatory requirements, and respond in milliseconds-because in gaming, every millisecond matters.
Responsibilities
Operate & Design High-Performance Gaming Networks:
- Build and maintain AWS VPC architectures supporting real-time gaming workloads.
- Optimize routing paths, connectivity, and integrations to reduce latency.
Secure & Govern Traffic at Scale:
- Implement network security controls using Security Groups, NACLs, WAF, Firewall Manager, and PrivateLink.
- Enforce gaming-industry compliance and data protection through segmented network architectures.
Connect Services, Players & Data:
- Manage connectivity for cloud services, transactional gaming systems, and real-time game event streaming using:
- Transit Gateway
- Direct Connect
- Load Balancers (ALB/NLB/Gateway LB/ F5-BIG IP LTM)
Automate Cloud Networking (IaC):
- Manage networking infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and GitOps workflows.
- Build reusable network modules and enforce version control and peer reviewed deployments.
Observe, Measure & Troubleshoot Traffic:
- Implement deep network monitoring using:
- VPC Flow Logs
- CloudWatch
- ELK/EFK
- Grafana & Prometheus
- Troubleshoot network latency, packet drops, routing inefficiencies, and scaling bottlenecks affecting real-time gameplay.
Collaborate Across Platform & Game Teams:
- Work closely with DevOps, SRE, platform, and security engineers to ensure fast connections, secure communication, and uninterrupted gameplay.
What You’ll Bring
Education
- A College Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
Core Experience
- 3+ years in Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or similar.
- Practical experience running production systems in AWS.
Technical Skills
- AWS Networking Services: VPC, TGW, DX, Global Accelerator, Route53, NAT, ENI, Load Balancers.
- Network Protocols: DNS, BGP, TLS, VPN, IPsec, HTTP/2+, TCP/UDP optimization.
- Security & Traffic Control: WAF, SG/NACL, Firewall Manager, IAM, PrivateLink.
- IaC & Automation: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Git, CI/CD.
- Monitoring & Diagnostics: CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, ELK, Grafana, X-Ray.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty).
