Senior Platform Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking Senior Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform to join an existing engineering team. This is a hands-on implementation role, not a consulting or advisory position.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and securing foundational infrastructure, enabling scalable and compliant deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Set up and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS)
• Configure and manage AWS services (S3, SQS, SNS, IAM, etc.)
• Implement secure networking, including firewall rules and VPC configurations
• Establish and optimize CI/CD pipelines
• Define and enforce IAM roles and access control policies
• Ensure platform meets security and compliance requirements (especially for regulated/government environments)
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to accelerate delivery timelines

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in platform engineering (flexible to 5+ for exceptional candidates)
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
  • AWS Cloud Services
  • Terraform (IC-level expertise)
• Proven experience in platform engineering / infrastructure setup
• Solid understanding of:
  • Cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, firewalls)
  • IAM and security best practices
• Experience building secure and compliant environments
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-impact delivery environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on government or highly regulated environments
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
• Prior experience in greenfield platform builds
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
