What You Will Do
We are in search of a skilled mid-level engineer to develop and maintain reliable, high-performing, and resource-efficient Platform Infrastructure for both Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and On-premise environments, essential for handling demanding Teradata analytic and AI tasks. This pivotal role ensures that our customers can depend on Teradata Cloud and on-premises Platforms for high availability and performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deploying and configuring Teradata systems across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Characterizing and optimizing system performance across CPU, storage, I/O, and network layers.
- Conducting stress tests and validating infrastructure to exceed manufacturer limits, ensuring robustness under analytic and AI workloads.
- Building automation tools for monitoring and analyzing infrastructure behavior.
- Collaborating with cloud providers and internal engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Providing support to customer-facing teams on platform performance, configuration, and availability queries.
Who You Will Work With
You'll be part of a dynamic, high-performing engineering team collaborating with:
- Teradata's Advanced Development, Architects, and Product Management to understand system requirements and test new platform capabilities.
- Cloud infrastructure providers, contributing to roadmap discussions and resolving performance and functionality challenges.
- Teradata Customer Support and Operations teams to address customer field issues efficiently.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
You should have:
- Experience with Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/GC) Computing Infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Linux OS and command line.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field complemented by 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
What You Will Bring
You will stand out as a candidate if you have:
- Experience with scripting (for creating and modifying test cases to generate specific configurations and workloads).
- Familiarity with Teradata Vantage Cloud or On-Prem solutions like IntelliFlex, Vantage on VMWare, or Teradata AI Factory.
- Adeptness in public cloud environments - AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge in system deployment and configuration.
- Skills in performance and resource (CPU/Storage/IO/Network) characterization and tuning.
- Experience stress-testing infrastructure to its limits to uncover potential weaknesses under intense workloads.
- Strong problem-solving abilities: skilled in analysis and troubleshooting, gathering data, establishing facts, and determining root causes of issues.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach complemented by a passion for technology.
- Creativity and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills.

Compensation
Pay Rate: $111800.0000 - $139800.0000 - $167700.0000 Annually
Your starting pay will depend on geographic location, internal equity, job-related expertise, skills, and candidate experience. All permanent roles are eligible for annual incentive plans based on company performance and individual contributions, while sales roles may qualify for commission payments linked to quota achievement.
