About the role

About Safran

Safran is a high-tech international group operating in the fields of aeronautics (propulsion, equipment and interiors), space and defense. Its mission: to contribute sustainably to a safer world, where air transport becomes ever more environmentally friendly, comfortable and accessible. With operations on all continents, the Group employs 100,000 people for a turnover of 27.3 billion euros in 2024, and holds, alone or in partnership, world or European leadership positions in its markets. Safran is the 2nd company in the aeronautics and defense sector in TIME magazine's "World's Best Companies 2024" ranking.

Safran Engineering Services offers high-tech engineering services in the fields of aeronautics, energy and land transport. With 30 years of experience, the company relies on 3,000 engineers spread across 9 countries worldwide.

Because we are convinced that every talent counts, we value and encourage applications from people with disabilities for our job opportunities.

Context

As part of the digital transformation underway within the Safran Group, a major program aims to harmonize PLM environments and migrate all technical and documentary data from previous systems to the 3DEXPERIENCE and PTC Windchill platforms. This critical migration must ensure the continuity of engineering activities, compliance with Safran standards, and optimal use of data in future business processes.

Responsibilities

Integrated into the project team and interacting with PLM experts, IT architects, and the technical departments of the Group's Companies, your mission will be to architect the migration mechanisms to ensure a transition to the new PLMs without service interruption and by securing data, deadlines, and business uses.

You will be involved in the following areas:

  1. Definition and governance of the migration architecture

    • Design the end-to-end migration architecture to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • Define the strategy: big bang, incremental, hybrid, by business domains.
    • Document architecture patterns, standards, and migration rules.
    • Ensure consistency with the target 3DX architecture (data model, business process).
  2. Design and governance of the Data Model

    • Define mapping rules between source and target data.
    • Identify gaps between the existing data model and actual business uses.
    • Prepare documentation for the data model and associated rules.
    • Propose adaptations to the Data Model to facilitate migration and align with business needs.
  3. Development of data transformation and quality rules

    • Define transformation rules: formatting, restructuring, normalization.
    • Validate cleansing, deduplication, and link reorganization mechanisms.
    • Determine priorities: data to correct, enrich, or reconstruct.
    • Implement consistency checks and quality KPIs.
  4. Selection, design, and supervision of migration tools

    • Prepare decision matrices for technology choices: scripts (MQL, TCL, Python, Java), ETL / pipelines, Dassault tools (Migration Factory, XCAD, ENOVIA/3DX APIs).
    • Design the technical architecture of tools and batches.
    • Supervise development by technical teams (builders, dev, data engineers).
    • Ensure performance, traceability, error recovery, and reporting.
  5. Securing the Cutover and post-migration stabilization

    • Define the cutover plan: detailed sequence, freeze, batches, final checks.
    • Supervise production migration: monitoring, KPIs, GO/NOGO criteria.
    • Manage stabilization: corrections, adjustments, load scaling.
    • Optimize execution times and recovery mechanisms.

Profile Sought

With higher education in engineering, IT, or PLM systems, you have solid experience in an industrial environment and on critical PLM migration projects.

Technical Skills Expected

  • Confirmed expertise on 3DEXPERIENCE or PTC WindChill, first experience as a solution architect.
  • Very good knowledge of data models and engineering processes.
  • Mastery of migration tools: ETL, scripts, APIs, Teamcenter export, import, 3DX and PTC tooling.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and propose robust solutions.

Other:

  • Mastery of English.
  • Pedagogy, synthesis skills, abstraction capacity.
  • Excellent communication and service orientation.
