Position Overview

The Enterprise Data Engineering Lead is a technically fluent Project Lead responsible for directing the execution of Power Platform–based metadata repository and automation solutions within secure federal healthcare environments.

This role leads day-to-day delivery of centralized metadata repository implementation and automated metadata harvesting initiatives. The position translates governance requirements into executable workflows, coordinates cross-functional engineering teams, and ensures secure, compliant delivery aligned with federal standards.

The role is execution-focused, blending technical fluency with structured project leadership and delivery accountability.

Core Responsibilities • Power Platform Solution Delivery Leadership • Lead day-to-day execution of centralized metadata repository implementation using SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, and Dataverse. • Coordinate Solution Architects, Power Platform Developers, Data Engineers, AI/ML Engineers, and QA resources to deliver: metadata intake, approval workflows, role-based access, and reporting solutions • Ensure solution delivery aligns with governance requirements and defined acceptance criteria. • Metadata Automation Execution Oversight • Lead implementation of automated metadata harvesting and AI-assisted documentation, integrating structured and AI-generated outputs into governed Power Platform schemas. • Ensure quality and operational integrity of automation workflows, validating completeness, accuracy, lineage, compliance, refresh cadence, and exception handling prior to publication. • Schedule, Risk & Stakeholder Management • Develop and manage work plans, sprint cadences, and milestone tracking. • Facilitate working sessions with stakeholders and technical teams. • Identify automation feasibility constraints, system limitations, and security risks early. • Ensure alignment between deliverables and government timelines. • Team Leadership • Provide guidance to junior developers and engineers. • Promote disciplined documentation and governance-aware engineering practices. • Facilitate lessons learned sessions and continuous improvement discussions. • Business Development • Support identification of follow-on automation or governance opportunities within client engagements. • Contribute technical insights to proposals, white papers, and solution approaches related to enterprise data modernization Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related technical discipline required. Master’s degree preferred. • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience leading enterprise data or technology initiatives, with demonstrated responsibility for delivery oversight in complex, regulated environments. • Demonstrated Experience • Leading implementation of federal data management, governance, or digital modernization solutions within secure, compliance-driven environments (e.g., healthcare, defense, or other federal agencies). • Directing Power Platform–based enterprise solutions, including structured intake applications, workflow automation, role-based access controls, and reporting capabilities. • Driving AI-enabled automation initiatives, including automated data ingestion, metadata enrichment, documentation synthesis, validation workflows, and integration into governed platforms. • Managing cross-functional technical teams (developers, engineers, analysts, QA) through structured delivery cycles, ensuring milestone adherence, risk mitigation, and alignment with stakeholder objectives. • Embedding federal security and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, FISMA, HIPAA-aligned controls) into technical implementations.

Additional Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in the Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Health Agency (DHA), or other federal healthcare environments. • Familiarity with metadata management frameworks, structured data modeling, and enterprise catalog concepts. • Experience supporting Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies; PMP or Agile certification preferred. • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust or higher-level federal clearance.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance: This position requires the employee to be a US Citizen and requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Work Environment: Work will be done in an office setting/environment and will need to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment. The person in this role will need to have the ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time and occasionally will need to move about inside an office environment. This position frequently communicates with other employees and external stakeholders. The person needs to have the ability to accurately exchange information in these settings.
