Responsibilities

• Design and develop clear, visually engaging Power BI reports and dashboards, selecting appropriate visuals and creating interactive features to support user needs.
• Clean, transform, and model data from multiple sources to ensure it is structured, accurate, and ready for reporting, including defining data relationships and applying modelling best practices.
• Create interactive reporting experiences through drill-through, drill-down, and filtering options that help users explore data and gain meaningful insights.
• Translate complex data into compelling stories by identifying key trends and insights that support effective decision‑making across the organisation.
• Validate, clean, and maintain high‑quality data by implementing processes that identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and gaps.
• Monitor and uphold data quality standards by applying data cleansing techniques and establishing rules that ensure continuous data accuracy.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure reported data is accurate, reliable, and aligned with trusted sources.
• Maintain thorough documentation and metadata for all data sources, transformations, and calculations to ensure transparency, consistency, and ease of reference.
• Deliver actionable insights that directly support strategic and operational decisions across various business functions.
• Provide reporting and visualisations that actively support decision‑makers, ensuring clarity and relevance to business objectives.
• Track and report on key metrics and KPIs, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and performance expectations.
• Demonstrate the business value of Power BI solutions by highlighting improvements in efficiency, revenue impact, cost savings, or other strategic benefits.
• Build robust, scalable data models that support performance, growth, and long‑term reporting needs while aligning with data governance standards.
• Optimise report performance by monitoring load times, query performance, and overall efficiency, making improvements where needed to enhance user experience.
• Ensure adherence to data governance principles, maintaining data consistency, security, and scalability across all reporting and modelling practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience and certifications
• Certification in Power BI, such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or similar, to demonstrate their proficiency with the tool.
• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field is typically expected
• Strong proficiency in using Power BI for data visualization, reporting, and analysis.
• Experience in creating interactive dashboards and reports is essential.
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques, including data cleansing, data transformation, data modeling, and the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
• Familiarity with SQL for querying and manipulating data from databases is often required, as Power BI often connects to SQL databases.
• Expertise in data visualization best practices and the ability to create compelling and effective visualizations that convey insights clearly.
• Experience connecting and integrating data from various sources into Power BI, including data from databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and other data formats.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, as Power BI often complements Excel for data analysis and reporting.
