Join our dynamic Pre‑Sales organization where your passion for technology will play a crucial role in aligning our innovative platform with the diverse needs of our customers. As a Pre‑Sales Solutions Architect at MongoDB, you will guide customers in designing and building robust, scalable systems using our state‑of‑the‑art data platform. The team is comprised of experienced technical sales professionals, software architects, entrepreneurs, and developers, all dedicated to ensuring customer success. You’ll collaborate closely with our sales team, helping clients solve complex business challenges through our solutions, playing an integral role in securing deals and driving growth. This position is open to candidates who are willing to work a hybrid model based in Tysons.
Key Qualifications
- 12+ years of relevant experience in a customer‑facing role, with a minimum of 7 years in pre‑sales, navigating intricate enterprise software sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- At least 3 years of experience with modern scripting languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, SQL) or well‑known programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Java, C#) in a professional setting.
- Hands‑on experience designing scalable, highly available distributed systems, both in cloud environments and on‑premises.
- Proven ability to assess complex architecture of existing applications and provide insightful guidance on technology improvements.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey intricate technical and business concepts clearly to both technical and business leaders.
- Experience presenting at industry conferences or creating publications that showcase thought leadership.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales Leadership to identify strategies that foster growth across multiple sales representatives or industry verticals.
- Strong comprehension of popular sales methodologies/frameworks such as MEDDPICC or Command of the Message.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- A Master's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the public sector is essential, particularly with SLED (State, Local, and Education), DoD (Department of Defense), or the Intelligence Community. Familiarity with the unique challenges and procurement processes in these sectors is highly valuable.
- An active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in database programming and data modeling.
- Familiarity with data engineering or AI/ML projects.
- Ability to modernize legacy systems into scalable and efficient technology stacks.
- Knowledge of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) practices.
- Proven capability to enhance organizational practices by sharing best practices or creating reusable assets.
