About the role
Position Overview
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Presales HPC & AI Solutions Architect to support Federal High Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence customer environments. This is a Remote/Teleworker position with the requirement to be located within commuting distance of Annapolis Junction, Maryland, ideally within the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) region, with up to 25% travel based on customer and business needs.
You'll serve as a key technical advisor supporting highly visible Federal customer initiatives focused on HPC, AI, modeling and simulation, and advanced infrastructure solutions. You'll architect complex solutions that drive customer business outcomes across HPE's portfolio of hardware, software, services, and as-a-service offerings, including integration with relevant third-party technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert and trusted advisor to customers and sales teams
- Deliver compelling proposals, presentations, demonstrations, and solution strategies aligned to customer business and technical requirements
- Conduct product presentations, system architecture and design work, and develop technical responses to RFIs and RFPs
- Partner with account teams to build customer relationships at all levels through technical strategies for customer transformation
- Review account pipelines to prioritize pursuit activities and move opportunities to close
- Participate as a solution evangelist for specific technologies or domains in deep-dive discussions
- Apply market intelligence and thought leadership to enhance proposed solutions and drive opportunity and demand generation
- Leverage deep knowledge of partner products and map the right partner to solution opportunities
- Create formal networks for collaboration and best practice sharing
- Mentor and guide new solution architects in conceptual designs, technical depictions, and customizations
Experience and Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of technical experience in IT with focus on technical consulting and solution selling
- University technical degree or equivalent technical qualifications required
- Advanced degree in technology preferred
- Industry certifications (knowledge-based and experienced-based) very strongly preferred
- Enterprise architecture frameworks and project management methodologies/certifications helpful but not required
- TS/SCI Clearance preferred

- In-depth knowledge of high performance computing, HPE products and solutions, and customers' technical and business environments
- Advanced experience participating in and leading solution configurations
- Advanced ability to create demos and proofs-of-concept to meet customer requirements
- Advanced understanding of company's portfolio of products, software, services, and solution domain specialization
- Advanced ability to translate as-a-Service offerings and complete ecosystem, differentiated value, solutions, and workloads
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and storytelling
- Advanced discussion and persuasion skills
- Advanced business and financial acumen, including understanding of sales cycle, pipeline growth, and business strategy linkage
- Knowledge of TCO/ROI concepts and calculations, financial models, and revenue generation
- Advanced consultative and value selling skills including whiteboarding, objection handling, and closing
- Proficiency with standard CRM systems and tools
- Hands-on experience with products, solutions, tools, or services aligned to job responsibility
- Ability to design and develop playbooks and deliver live demonstrations
- Advanced project and time management skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced knowledge of partner offerings and go-to-market strategy
- Advanced strategic planning and account planning skills
