Job Summary

The Presales Solutions Engineer - Data Protection Specialist will serve as an expert in cloud security, engaging directly with clients to assess their security needs. By taking a consultative approach, you will help align security technologies with business objectives and enhance our service offerings to meet customer demands. This is a remote position, but occasional office presence in Austin, Texas may be required based on business needs.

Role Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including CIOs, CSOs, CISOs, and procurement teams, to strengthen client relationships and understand their goals.
  • Familiarize yourself with SHI's service offerings through training and self-study.
  • Educate sales teams on cybersecurity solutions, providing training on technologies and strategies.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and market trends through continuous learning.
  • Engage in hands-on lab work to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Develop collateral and use cases to support cybersecurity sales efforts.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Intermediate experience with security frameworks such as NIST, HITRUST, and CIS.
  • Technical knowledge in identity governance and security solutions, including DLP, CASB, SWG, DSPM, USB control, file encryption, and ransomware recovery.
  • Proven ability to communicate and sell complex technical solutions by understanding customer needs and articulating value propositions.
  • Expertise in popular technologies like Proofpoint, Mimecast, Abnormal, Rubrik, Varonis, Sentra, Cohesity, etc.
  • A completed Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years in a technical cybersecurity role and 3+ years in Security Pre-Sales Consulting.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, CISM) preferred.

Additional Requirements

Willingness to travel to client locations up to 20% for meetings and engagements. Extended hours may be required for special projects.

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $230,000, including base and bonus, depending on relevant skills, experience, and market location. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending options.
