About the role
Position Purpose
The Pricing & Data Analyst plays a critical role in driving profitability and pricing accuracy across the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining and optimizing pricing, product, and cost data within the Epicor Prophet 21 ERP system while delivering actionable pricing analysis to Sales, Purchasing, Finance, and regional leadership. The analyst partners closely with Regional Vice Presidents, Sales Managers, and branch leadership to support strategic pricing decisions, margin optimization, and data integrity in a fast-paced, distributed environment. This role requires advanced Excel skills, strong ERP expertise, analytical rigor, and the ability to communicate complex pricing insights clearly across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Margin Analysis
- Conduct detailed sales, item, and margin analysis to identify pricing opportunities and margin erosion.
- Evaluate pricing accuracy and competitiveness across regions, customers, and product categories.
- Support quarterly pricing reviews and implement ongoing pricing adjustments aligned with corporate strategy.
- Develop regional and customer-level pricing recommendations for commodities and large-ticket items.
ERP Data Management (Epicor Prophet 21)
- Maintain and update pricing matrices, customer-specific pricing, vendor costs, and product records in Epicor Prophet 21.
- Create and maintain new data sets including products, vendors, pricing groups, and cost files following approved workflows.
- Perform bulk pricing updates, imports, and global changes while ensuring audit compliance and data integrity.
- Investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies, overrides, and system-related margin issues.
- Support ERP enhancements, testing, and pricing-related configuration changes.
Collaboration & Business Support
- Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Regional Vice Presidents, and branch managers to implement pricing initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted pricing and data resource for field operations and leadership.
- Communicate pricing changes clearly and professionally to all levels of management.
- Generate pricing, margin, and performance reports for leadership review.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Leverage advanced Excel and office automation tools to streamline pricing workflows and reporting.
- Develop macros and automated solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain documentation for pricing rules, procedures, and change logs.
- Share best practices and process improvements across the team.
Travel Requirements
- Twice a year to Tanner HQ. for in person meetings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary office or remote work environment for extended periods.

- Strong problem-solving, multitasking, prioritization, and stress-management skills.
- Ability to analyze information quickly and communicate solutions effectively.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in pricing analysis, ERP data management, or a related analytical role.
- Hands-on experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (pricing, product, vendor, and customer modules strongly preferred).
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and other lookup functions
- Multi-sheet data management
- Macros and automation
- Experience performing sales, cost, and margin analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, construction supply, or landscape distribution industries.
- Familiarity with SQL, data extraction tools, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Experience with contract pricing, rebates, and margin management.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, including profit and loss.
- Project management or change management experience.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Pricing Professional (CPP), CMA, CFA, or advanced Excel certifications

Work Location

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $73,400.00 to $95,400.00 annually. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, profit-sharing programs, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
