As part of the AI and Emerging Technology Architecture team, you will join a strategic and collaborative group dedicated to transforming our business and technology capabilities, paving the way for outstanding solutions.
In the role of Principal Architect, you will work alongside senior Technology and Business leaders, leveraging your technical expertise and visionary thinking to architect AI systems that deliver business value while adhering to ethical standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Using your hands-on expertise in AI/ML, Generative AI, and Agentic AI systems to design scalable, production-grade AI solutions that resonate across the enterprise.
- Providing consulting expertise to division and domain architects to align architectures across various business lines while championing a unified enterprise AI solutions architecture practice.
- Aligning AI platform capabilities with strategic business needs, promoting reusability, interoperability, and responsible AI design.
- Establishing governance, risk, and control processes to ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable AI deployments, guided by frameworks like the EU AI Act, GDPR, and others focused on ethics and bias mitigation.
- Tracking and communicating the evolving AI platform roadmap and sharing insights about opportunities and challenges that complement enterprise initiatives.
- Utilizing strong collaboration and communication skills to bridge complex AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the architecture community.
What Will You Do?
- Scope: Oversee architecture for multiple technology and/or business segments/domains within a single business unit.
- Technical Execution: Define and lead technology proof of concepts to validate architectural solutions. Actively identify opportunities to leverage technological advancements through analysis.
- Drive ongoing technology transformation efforts to reduce technical debt.
- Engage in hands-on prototyping of new technology solutions.
- Collaborate with Technology and Business leadership to ensure alignment with technology direction and execution of proof of technologies.
- Strategic Accountability: Lead thought initiatives in pursuit of modern architecture principles and technology modernization.
- Engage senior leadership in Technology and Business to develop architectural priorities that support business objectives, fostering buy-in.
- Prepare and deliver communications to articulate architectural direction clearly.
- Champion strategic relationships to achieve organizational buy-in.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Technical Expertise & Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent, with 8 to 10 years of architecture experience.
- Proven executive experience in complex, large-scale technology strategies and modern technologies.
- Leadership & Influence: Remarkable leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with architecture and engineering leaders, build credibility, and strengthen the Architecture organization.
- Strategic & Business Acumen: Extensive experience in Agile operational models and transformational change.
- Advanced experience supporting technology target states and roadmaps aligned with both short-term and long-term business goals.
- Insurance technology experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of value creation and business capability models in the insurance sector.
- Advanced communication skills for impactful information sharing and decision-making.
What Is a Must Have?
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of architecture/software engineering experience.
- 2 years of technical leadership experience.
