About

As a Principal Audio Software Engineer, DSP, you will drive development of audio technologies from research to prototyping and productization. You’ll work across Automotive, Lifestyle and Professional lines to evaluate and implement DSP, ML, and optimization solutions for embedded platforms. You’ll lead full technology lifecycles, from concept to commercialization, influencing cross-functional teams and advancing acoustic innovations that shape Harman’s audio portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Audio DSP algorithms on embedded platforms (Linux/Android/Tizen)
• Architect Linux-based audio applications for embedded devices
• Evaluate and adapt state-of-the-art DSP algorithms
• Lead invention and maturation of new acoustic technologies for product integration
• Promote technology adoption across business units and engineering teams
• Serve as cross-functional technical owner coordinating research, software, system, validation and product teams
• Drive technical decisions, priorities, interfaces, and trade-offs aligned with product and user needs
• Define and qualify audio algorithm performance using testing frameworks and validation methods
• Guide technology transfer to commercialization teams
• Produce technical reports, white papers, and patent applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
• 8 years of relevant industry experience
• C/C++ software development on embedded platforms
• MATLAB for audio processing
• Real-time audio DSP algorithm design and implementation
• Experience implementing and testing algorithms from research papers
• Hands-on experience with agile SW development
• Experience with audio processing SDKs (JUCE or equivalent)
• Business fluent in English
