Our client is a leading engineering consultancy seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Civil Engineer to lead complex infrastructure projects from a remote perspective. This senior role requires a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, exceptional design capabilities, and a proven ability to manage projects from conception through to completion. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, capable of guiding multidisciplinary teams and delivering state-of-the‑art solutions for challenging civil engineering endeavors.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of major civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, transportation, and site development.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and impact assessments.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Oversee the construction phase of projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Perform quality control reviews of engineering designs and documentation.
- Stay abreast of advancements in civil engineering technologies, materials, and methodologies.
- Represent the company in technical meetings and public consultations.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Ph.D. is an advantage.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management.
- Demonstrated expertise in structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, or water resources engineering.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, structural analysis software).
- Strong understanding of local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, lead teams, and resolve technical challenges.
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is beneficial.

Location & Work Arrangement
This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to significant infrastructure projects for our client near Owerri, Imo, NG. We seek a visionary engineer to shape the future of infrastructure.
