Our client, a globally recognized engineering consultancy, is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer specializing in Structural Design to lead our remote design and analysis team. This fully remote position offers a unique opportunity to shape the structural integrity of significant infrastructure projects worldwide from your home office. You will be responsible for overseeing the design process, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and technical excellence. Your expertise in structural analysis, design codes, and project management will be crucial for driving successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for a variety of complex civil engineering projects, including buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities.
• Develop innovative and efficient structural solutions that meet project requirements, budget, and schedule.
• Perform advanced structural calculations and simulations using state-of-the-art finite element analysis (FEA) software.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and international building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Review and stamp structural drawings, specifications, and calculations prepared by the engineering team.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to structural engineers and designers.
• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines in a remote environment.
• Participate in project planning, risk assessment, and quality assurance processes.
• Stay current with advancements in structural engineering theory, materials, and technologies.
• Contribute to the development of engineering best practices and standards within the firm.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design packages.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in structural design and analysis.
• Extensive experience with structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
• Deep understanding of building codes (e.g., IBC, Eurocodes) and material design principles (steel, concrete, timber).
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage complex projects from conception to completion.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior engineering staff.
• Proficiency in utilizing remote collaboration tools and technologies for effective teamwork.
• Experience with seismic analysis and design is highly desirable.
