Summary

  • Directs others and/or contributes to project planning, defining, designing, managing, and supporting cloud computing applications.
  • Decides the Board and division’s technological and cloud-based needs and suggests solutions based on cost-benefit analysis.
  • Directs delivery of cloud deployments and collaborates with development teams to streamline application services.
  • Develops repeatable patterns and ensures consistency in solution design and adoption.
  • Drives technical and architectural decisions to improve enterprise cloud services.
  • Serves as a cloud technology champion and influencer to develop initiatives, architecture patterns, and facilitate strategic priorities.
  • Acts as subject matter expert in cloud architecture and related disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently advises leadership and key stakeholders on cloud practices, architectural approaches, technology and business requirements, industry trends, and Federal Reserve Board architecture landscape.
  • Makes decisions providing direction for technical architecture and roadmap for cloud capabilities and migrations.
  • Develops and propagates standards, frameworks, patterns, and processes benefiting the Board and/or division.
  • Directs junior staff and develops cloud architecture across organizational structure, application development, identity and access management, network and data management, integrations, and security.
  • Reviews and approves architectural artifacts to lead successful cloud practice implementations.
  • Mentors junior staff and provides designs for engineers on cloud architecture implementation.
  • Architects cloud-native, hybrid, or multi-cloud solutions focusing on secure and scalable architecture.
  • Leads trainings and workshops for team members and communities of practice.
  • Engages with technical stakeholders to explain system operations.
  • Decides technical direction of the team and integration with the Board and/or division.
  • Mentors technical and development team members in new technologies.
  • Researches and stays current on cloud platforms and technologies.
  • Leads technology environment analysis to detect deficiencies and opportunities.
