About the role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Cybersecurity Analyst to join their advanced security operations team, based in **Gombe, Gombe, NG**, but this role offers the flexibility of being fully remote. As a Principal Analyst, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization's digital assets, identifying and responding to complex cyber threats, and shaping our overall cybersecurity strategy. You will be at the forefront of threat intelligence, incident response, vulnerability management, and security architecture design. This position requires a deep understanding of the current threat landscape, sophisticated attack vectors, and cutting-edge defensive technologies.
Key responsibilities include: Leading the investigation and response to advanced security incidents, including malware analysis, forensic investigation, and containment strategies. Developing and implementing proactive threat hunting methodologies to identify and neutralize emerging threats before they impact the organization. Conducting in-depth vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and providing actionable recommendations for remediation. Designing, implementing, and managing security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and DLP solutions. Analyzing security alerts and logs from various sources to detect suspicious activities and potential breaches. Contributing to the development and refinement of the organization's cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards. Staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and vulnerabilities, and sharing knowledge with the team. Mentoring and guiding junior security analysts, fostering their professional development. Collaborating with IT and other departments to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the technology infrastructure. Developing and maintaining security documentation, playbooks, and incident response plans. Participating in security architecture reviews and providing input on secure system design. Contributing to the development of security awareness training materials. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, with advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent being highly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal analyst role, is required. Proven experience in incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management is essential. Strong technical skills in network security, endpoint security, cloud security, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) are necessary. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial for this role. This is a fully remote position with significant impact.
