Principal Electrical Engineer – Medical Devices

Growing medical device company seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead development of battery-powered embedded and ASIC-based systems for wearable and implantable technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture, design, debugging, and product development activities.
• Develop embedded systems utilizing ASICs, microcontrollers, NFC/RFID, and Bluetooth connectivity.
• Support design verification, root cause analysis, FMEA, and engineering documentation.
• Build and support sensor test systems, manufacturing fixtures, and calibration platforms.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership initiatives.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in embedded electrical or ASIC development.
• Strong mixed-signal PCB design and battery-powered system experience.
• Experience with wearable and/or implantable medical devices preferred.
• Experience with BLE and RF design preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD/layout tools, MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
• Familiarity with Class II/III medical device development environments strongly preferred.
