Our client, a leading engineering consultancy in Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA, is seeking an accomplished Principal Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems. This is a senior-level position requiring extensive expertise in the design, analysis, and implementation of complex electrical power infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Leading engineering teams on major projects, ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence and project delivery.
• Developing system designs for power generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
• Conducting load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and protection coordination.
• Overseeing the specification of electrical equipment.
• Managing project documentation.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a strong emphasis on power systems.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical power engineering is required, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Expertise in power system analysis software such as ETAP, PSS/E, or equivalent is mandatory.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are critical, as you will be interacting with clients, regulatory bodies, and other project stakeholders.
