- Salary: from € 70,000 gross/year (higher compensation possible depending on qualifications and experience)

Your Role
You will be responsible for improving the security features and posture of Unwired products, with specific focus on our operating system.
As part of our ongoing security and software hardening efforts, you will lead the technical improvements and implementations within our products, and also develop security relevant features yourself.
This role works closely together with our technical compliance (IEC 62443) as part of the combined development & operations team. You will be responsible for development tasks and shipping features into production.
Your Responsibilities
- Define development roadmap items and tasks to harden our software
- Define roadmap to fulfill technical requirements from IEC 62443-4-2 as part of the development & operations team
- Implement hardening tasks primarily within our operating system and its services
- Collaborate with backend and SRE teams to ensure security and hardening extends to connected cloud services and supporting infrastructure.
- Be the internal competence center for other team members in terms of security and software hardening
Your Profile
- Technical background: Solid understanding of technical software systems with Linux, cloud service components, networking and software development processes
- Security background: Solid understanding of security principles and how they are utilized in operating systems with network and virtualization services
- Preferred background: Implemented or maintained secure boot on arm/x64, full disk encryption, using TPM modules and secure enclaves
- Beneficial: Experience with process isolation (jailing, containers, container runtimes), cgroups, AppArmor, seccomp, SELinux, Linux namespaces
- Analytical and structured work style: Systematic approach to interpreting complex requirements and identifying technical & procedural gaps
- Documentation and reporting: Precise, audit-ready writing and documentation capabilities (e.g. architecture diagrams, threat modelling, system description)
- Preferred background: degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
- Language skills: Excellent German and English skills (verbal and written)
