Process Overview

Prime Brokerage (PB) offers physical and synthetic financing solutions for clients who desire to gain market exposure and financing to securities in the Equity, Fixed Income, and FX marketplaces. BAML's offering spans multiple areas within GBAM, each of which provide specific offerings to our clients.

Core prime services include transaction processing, canned and ad-hoc reporting as well as different calculators to calculate chargebacks, margins, and financing.

We are looking for a seasoned technology leader with deep expertise in modernizing enterprise technology landscapes, simplifying & optimizing legacy systems, and driving architectural transformations.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on architectural skills with strategic vision, delivering sustainable and scalable solutions to meet the ever-growing demand of market requirements that enhance system throughput and performance to support Bank of America businesses and end customers.

This role demands technical depth, leadership acumen, and solid business understanding.

The candidate is also responsible for overall delivery ownership, working with global stakeholder teams with effective project management skills.

The candidate will be operating in the Margin and Risk Technology function within the Prime Brokerage line of business, which is responsible for distributing client Margin reports and assessing portfolio Risk on a daily basis for PB clients.

Responsibilities

- Simplify Legacy Designs: Optimize the overnight critical batch processing framework responsible for margin report delivery for high-net-worth clients by modernizing legacy application processes. - Technology Leadership: Lead a high-performance team to own & drive end-to-end project deliveries from India. - Collaborate with business and product leaders to align technology transformation with strategic objectives. - Production Stability: Manage production incident situations with communication and escalations to senior tech & business management. - Lead Modernization Program: Explore potential opportunities in existing legacy setups for modernization. - Drive innovation and continuous improvement in tools, technologies, and delivery processes for overall operational efficiency.

Requirements

Required Skills Technical Skills & Industry Experience:

- Must have 18-20 years of total IT experience, with 10+ years in architecture, modernization, or transformation leadership roles. - Influencing leadership skills with hands-on technical skills to lead a high-performing team. - Expertise level experience of not less than 10+ years in Microsoft technologies mainly SQL Server 2018, Business Intelligence tools (SSIS, SSRS), .Net C#, Python 3.x, Visual Studio 2019, and Python scripting. - Strong database knowledge on relational and object-oriented databases. - Strong grasp of design patterns, distributed systems, data architecture, and security principles. - Exposure to distributed computing processes, message queuing tools (e.g. AMPS), scheduling tools. - Strong understanding of both Windows and UNIX flavored operating systems. - Exposure to CI/CD processes using tools such as Jenkins and Ansible. - Experience in Agile software development cycles.

Good to Have:

- Good understanding of large-scale infrastructure and the ability to assess and manage inventory based on technology solutions needed. - Exposure to managing enterprise architecture frameworks. - Experience in modernizing large-scale applications using industry-standard solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Certifications in Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF), Cloud Architecture, or DevOps Leadership. - Exposure to AI/ML integration, data modernization, or event-driven architecture is a plus. - Prior experience in technology consulting or global delivery environments.

Leadership and Organizational Skills

- Must exhibit technical leadership skills with a strong hold on software, tools, and applications required to be worked upon. - Ability to design flawless and efficient processes. - Should have a clear understanding of requirements and the ability to drive business deliveries end-to-end. - Efficiently work in a collaborative and coordinated environment with a robust understanding of the global delivery model. - Fluent and influential communication (both written and verbal). - Self-driven, proactive, and organized to own and drive small/mid-scale projects.

Domain Exposure

- Prefer to have working experience in the Prime Brokerage (PB) line of business in an investment banking domain (minimum of 10+ years). - Detailed understanding of financial products like equity, FX, Bonds, Swaps, and derivatives of these underlying - should have exposure in life cycle management of these products. - End-to-end trade life cycle for exchange and over-the-counter (OTC) traded products. - Exposure to Margin Financing and middle office Risk management.

Project Management Skills

- Should have experience in requirement gathering, analysis by working closely with stakeholder teams, users, etc. - Project estimation to provide a roadmap for overall work completion. - Resource management to allocate tasks and build traceability to track progress. - Project progress reporting to management.
