About the role
As a Stormwater Engineering Lead at WSP, you will be responsible for leading the technical delivery of various stormwater, revetment, and drainage engineering projects. Your key responsibilities will include: - Providing technical inputs and support for design throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to construction - Producing research, feasibility studies, and analysis with high levels of grammatical and technical accuracy - Demonstrating strong knowledge in stormwater reticulation, drainage, and revetment engineering, and supervising others effectively in these areas - Working independently, directing others, and ensuring verification of their work by appropriate professionals - Producing and reviewing models, designs, calculations, and other documentation in compliance with relevant standards - Mentoring and coaching team members, ensuring quality processes are followed, and providing constructive feedback - Managing technical risks, solving problems effectively, and staying updated on industry standards and developments - Building and maintaining relationships with clients, industry contacts, and internal stakeholders - Delivering excellent service, scoping projects effectively, and contributing to commercial success through bids and pricing strategies
In addition to the above responsibilities, you should have the following qualifications and experience: Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, followed by a Masters in Water Resource Engineering or Environmental Engineering (preferred) - Professional Registration (Chartered Engineer status or equivalent)
Experience: - Minimum of 12 years' experience in stormwater engineering, with at least 4 years in project leadership roles - Proficiency in using Civil 3D for stormwater design, with at least 6 years' experience and extensive recent use - Experience in earthworks modeling and familiarity with NZ, Australian, or UK projects (preferred)
Software Proficiencies: - Highly proficient in Civil 3D for stormwater design - Experience with 12d for design purposes is beneficial - Proficient in Windows, MS Word/Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
