Principal Firmware Engineer

I’m partnering with a growing medical device company looking to add a senior-level Embedded Firmware Engineer to their engineering team. This individual will play a key role in developing embedded software for next-generation medical technologies and supporting broader device platform development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead embedded firmware architecture and development across medical device platforms
• Develop embedded software for hardware-integrated products and system functionality
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Electrical, Mechanical, and Systems Engineering teams
• Support device connectivity, integration, and software feature development
• Drive technical leadership through design reviews, problem-solving, and mentoring

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of firmware development experience
• Strong experience with microcontrollers, RTOS environments, and embedded C/C++
• Experience developing firmware for regulated or safety-critical products preferred
• Background working closely with hardware and cross-functional engineering teams
• Startup or fast-paced product development experience (preferred)

Compensation

$180,000 - $225,000 base + bonus + equity
