YOUR ROLE

As a key player in the Data Platform Team, reporting to the Head of Data Platform, you will build and evolve high-leverage platform capabilities that power data engineering across the firm. Your mission is to accelerate delivery and strengthen governance by combining software craftsmanship, developer productivity tooling, and the pragmatic adoption of GenAI for developers. You’ll work closely with data and IT teams to ship reliable, well-engineered solutions that scale in a hybrid (on‑prem + cloud) environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accelerate developer productivity with GenAI: drive adoption of GenAI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot), deliver end-to-end high-value use cases, and continuously improve based on impact metrics (time-to-market, DevX, incidents).
• Build governance-enabling platform tooling: develop internal tools and shared assets that make data easier to discover, trust, and use (metadata, quality signals, operational visibility) while keeping workflows smooth for engineers.
• Raise SDLC & release excellence: strengthen CI/CD and release management practices so teams ship changes safely, repeatably, and with production-grade quality.
• Lead by example in software craftsmanship: model clean code and pragmatic architecture, promote shared standards (testing, reviews, linting, branching, conventions), and help teams deliver consistently high-quality software.
• Mentor and influence across teams: coach engineers through reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing, and collaborate with data and IT stakeholders to align priorities and communicate progress (including roadmap and incident-related discussions).

YOUR SKILLS

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related fields.

Experience

• 10+ years in engineering, including 5+ years building data pipelines, data platforms, or engineering enablement tooling.
• GenAI track record: 2+ years applying GenAI for developers with demonstrated rollout, enablement, or workflow integration—and measurable impact.
• Strong Python engineering skills and a proven ability to ship and operate production-quality systems.
• Cloud & DevOps fluency: hands-on experience delivering on Cloud platforms with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Tech lead qualities without hierarchical authority: you influence through clarity, credibility, coaching, and collaboration across teams.
• Outcome-driven & product-minded: you care about developer experience, reliability, and measurable improvements.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, with a commitment to professional development, continuous learning and innovation.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in platform engineering / developer productivity teams (paved roads, templates, golden paths).
• Experience defining and tracking engineering effectiveness and reliability metrics.
• Familiarity with modern data processing patterns and frameworks.
